The Financial Academy held a workshop entitled:
“Reinsurance in the Kingdom – A Pillar for the Stability of the Saudi Insurance Market.”
The workshop reviewed the current state of the reinsurance market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its growth trends, and the key challenges and opportunities available to strengthen its role in supporting the stability of the insurance market, in light of rapid regulatory and economic developments.
The workshop sessions were moderated by Mr. Resini Alresini, Deputy CEO of ReTech, with participation in the panel discussions by Mr. Momen Mukhtar, Secretary General of the Afro-Asian Insurance and Reinsurance Federation, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Qarishi, Chief Underwriting Officer at the Saudi Reinsurance Company (Saudi Re).
The speakers discussed four main themes:
First theme: The size of the reinsurance market in Saudi Arabia and its growth
Second theme: The role of actuarial expertise in regulating and improving the performance of insurance and reinsurance markets
Third theme: Pricing and underwriting in reinsurance
Fourth theme: Developing national talent in the reinsurance sector
